How to Stop an Acne Outbreak

Introduction
So you have acne outbreak, well we will discuss how you can control this type of outbreak, but first let's find out how you can stop your current outbreak.

Acne Outbreak
People who get acne outbreaks are usually teenagers or young women who have a hormone imbalance, which is believed to cause an excess amount of sebum (oil) production. When this happens, the oil clumps the dead skin on the face together and blocks the pores. This also traps bacteria in the pores that then thrives on an oxygen-depleted environment.
At this point the white blood cells in the blood attack the bacteria resulting in outbreaks of acne.
Controlling Outbreaks
The most important thing to do when you get an outbreak of acne is not to squeeze the pimple; in fact it is best not to touch the pimples. If you do, you risk the chance of spreading the infection and developing acne scars.
The best thing I tried was to use Visine. Yep that is right, the eye drop solution that removes the red from your eyes. By putting a few drops on a cotton swab, and dabbing it on the acne that has developed on your face, it can reduce the redness and size of the pimple.
It is best to use Visine before you go to bed, but apply it so that it has dried before you go to bed so it is not removed by your bed sheets and pillows.
Stopping Outbreaks
The key to stopping outbreaks of acne is to control one of the three elements that is needed to produce acne. These are sebum, dead skin and bacteria. Fortunately, there is essentially one action you can take to remove these elements that produce acne, and that is to cleanse your skin at least two to three times a day.
An additional action you can take is to exfoliate your face once or twice a week. This action will remove the dead skin on your face, expose new skin for that fresh younger look and minimize acne outbreaks.
One additional step you should take is to moisturize your face to keep it hydrated.
Conclusion
To stop acne outbreaks use Visine to attack the current outbreak. Then to prevent further outbreaks, you need to control the sebum, the dead skin and the bacteria on your face. This can be easily done by cleansing, exfoliating and moisturizing your face on an established routine.
